Located 35 km (22 mi) southeast of central Istanbul, Sabiha Gökçen is on the Asian side of the bi-continental city and serves as the hub for Pegasus Airlines as well as a base for Turkish Airlines and Borajet.

The facility is named after Sabiha Gökçen, the first female combat pilot in Turkey and adoptive daughter of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding President of the Republic of Turkey.

Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul, historically known as Constantinople and Byzantium, is the most populous city in Turkey and the country’s economic, cultural, and historic center. Istanbul is a transcontinental city in Eurasia, straddling the Bosphorus strait (which separates Europe and Asia) between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea.
